FAQ

Are students allowed to work while they are on a study permit in South Africa?

International students holding a valid study permit are allowed to work part time for up to 20 hours per week. Those who wish to obtain work experience or as a part of their studies, have to apply for permission from Home Affairs. The documents required to be submitted include formal offer to conduct practical training, consent from the educational institution, and proof that the student is registered.

Which entrance tests are required to be given in order to get admission into institutions at South Africa?
South Africa does not require students to give any formal test. However, students have to submit evidence of language proficiency in English, Afrikaans, or any of the country’s official language.
