University of Strathclyde

The University of Strathclyde is located in Glasgow, Scotland. Glasgow is situated on the banks of the River Clyde in Scotland. It is the most populous and largest city in Scotland and the fourth-most populous city in the United Kingdom. 

          The city has a lot of opportunities for a wide range of cultural activities, from curling to opera and ballet and from football to art appreciation. Most of Scotland’s national arts organizations are based in Glasgow, including Scottish Opera, Scottish Ballet, National Theatre of Scotland, Royal Scottish National Orchestra, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, and Scottish Youth Theatre.

         Glasgow is a major center of higher and academic research, with many universities and colleges within 10 miles (16 km) of the city center. The University of Strathclyde is one of them. It is a public research university founded in 1796 by the Andersonian Institute. It is the second-oldest university in Glasgow and it is Scotland’s third-largest university by a number of students, with students and staff from over 100 countries.

          The university currently consists of four main faculties’ categorized based on subjects and academic fields that they deal with and each faculty is subdivided into several departments which deal with specific academic and research areas. They are Faculty of Engineering, Humanities & Social Sciences, Faculty of Science, and Strathclyde Business School.

          Strathclyde launched its Age-Friendly Academy (AFA) in 2017 where everyone can study, regardless of age or stage in life. They are working hard to bring generations together in mutually beneficial activities.

          The Campus is in the heart of Glasgow’s city center surrounded by supermarkets, Boutiques, Restaurants, Clubs, Museums, Theaters, etc. There’s more or less everything you need on campus and for anything else, you have an entire city to choose from.
