English is the language of instruction at RGU, and hence students need to demonstrate proof of proficiency of the same. Students who wish to pursue an undergraduate course need to have a minimum IELTS score of 6.0, with at least 5.5 in each of reading, speaking, writing, and listening. The University also accepts PTE scores with an overall 56, and minimum 51 in each component. Other equivalent qualifications accepted are TOEFL iBT (overall minimum score of 80), Cambridge English: Proficiency (CPE), Advanced (CAE) and First (FCE) (overall minimum score of 169), Integrated Skills in English (ISE III) (with a Pass), and Integrated Skills in English (ISE II) (with distinction).

If you wish to pursue any of the Robert Gordon University postgraduate courses, it is mandatory to have an IELTS score of 6.5, with a minimum of 5.5 in each component. Alternatively, other accepted qualifications include PTE Academic (minimum overall score of 61 with 51 in each component), TOEFL iBT (minimum overall score of 88), Cambridge English: Proficiency (CPE), Advanced (CAE) and First (FCE) (minimum overall score of 176 with 162 in each component), Integrated Skills in English (ISE III) (with a Pass), and Integrated Skills in English (ISE II) (with distinction).

Pathway Programmes
